Why not take this opportunity to increase your knowledge base by returning to school? The money you spend on your education could earn you a more financially and personally rewarding job. Strayer University in Chesapeake actually specializes in helping adults increase their career potential. Browse this article and see what Strayer can offer you.

About Strayer

Strayer University is a private for profit school, which means that it is run as a business and has no access to public funds. The company that oversees it is known as the Strayer Education Company and is headquartered nearby in Arlington. There are more than 75 campuses in 16 different states where a total of 54,000 students are studying hard to gain new opportunities in internet marketing in Toronto and other fields. The original location that started the franchise was Strayer College in Baltimore, Maryland.

Programs

The programs offered at Strayer University are mostly standard career college fare that will help you get a job in accounting or electronic contract manufacturing. There are eight different areas of study offered at the Chesapeake campus: accounting, public administration, business, criminal justice, information systems, education, health services administration, and arts. Types of degree offered include master's degree, certificate, bachelor degree, associate degree, and diploma. There's also a separate pipeline for students bound for specialist positions in the military.

Study Online

Obviously not everyone can afford to quit their job and return to university full time. Some people must continue to make a living as a commercial mortgage broker while studying for a career change. That's why Strayer offers students the opportunity to do their coursework online. The standards of performance are the same, but the schedule is adaptable in order to suit your needs. All the in-building programs listed above are available online plus more that are not taught at the Chesapeake campus. These include degrees in economics and international business as well as associate degrees in contract management.

Admissions

Students from the United States must send in their application form, fee, and high school records to be considered. For graduate programs, students must also submit transcripts and proof of graduation from a bachelor's program and pass either a graduate admissions test or an interview to determine graduate potential with the Dean. Students from foreign countries must meet all these guidelines plus pass a test proving their proficiency in English as a second language, demonstrate their ability to support themselves, and show that they have health insurance and student visas.
